The 18 Districts of Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a Special Administrative Region (SAR) of China, comprising of 18 districts. Each district belongs to one of the three main regions; Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories.

Hong Kong Island

Hong Kong Island is the second largest island in the region, but in terms of population density ranks first throughout the entire Hong Kong. It is separated from the mainland of Hong Kong by Victoria Harbour. Hong Kong Island comprises of four districts; Central and Western, Eastern, Southern and Wan Chai.

Kowloon

Kowloon is situated on the southern part of the Hong Kong mainland, adjustment to Victoria Harbour. It comprises of five administrative districts; Kowloon City, Kwun Tong, Sham Shui Po, Wong Tai Sin and Yau Tsim Mong.

New Territories

The New Territories is the largest region in Hong Kong, occupying the north and middle part of the Hong Kong mainland, also including the majority of the outlying islands. The New Territories comprise of nine districts; Islands, Kwai Tsing, North, Sai Kung, Sha Tin, Tai Po, Tsuen Wan, Tuen Mun and Yuen Long. The Islands District includes Lantau, which is the largest island in Hong Kong, Lamma, Cheung Chau, Peng Chau and many others.
